The WATERVERSE consortium today announced the release of its third project newsletter, marking a significant milestone as the EU-funded initiative enters its final phase. The newsletter details major project outcomes, including the publication of its first policy brief and the strategic conclusions from its final plenary meeting in Helsinki.

As the project approaches its conclusion, the newsletter provides stakeholders with a comprehensive update on the tools and strategies developed to create a resilient, efficient, and sustainable data-driven water sector.

Key highlights from the third newsletter include:

  • First Policy Brief Release: The newsletter introduces the WATERVERSE policy brief, which outlines critical recommendations for leveraging Water Data Management Ecosystems (WDMEs). It emphasises the need for enhanced data sharing, the adoption of AI, and the implementation of FAIR data principles to digitalise the water sector effectively.

  • Final Roadmap Solidified in Helsinki: From June 17-19, 2025, the consortium gathered in Helsinki for its final plenary meeting. Partners focused on finalising the project’s innovative tools and establishing a robust strategy to ensure the long-term impact and sustainability of WATERVERSE outcomes.

  • Exclusive Interviews and Pilot Insights: The edition features a new video interview with Project Coordinator Gerasimos Antzoulatos of CERTH, who provides a clear overview of the project’s mission. Furthermore, it includes interviews with partners from pilots in Cyprus, the Netherlands, and Spain, who share their first-hand experiences using WATERVERSE solutions to tackle real-world water management challenges.
