WATERVERSE project will participate in the upcoming Data Week 2025, during the session titled “From Data to Impact in Green Deal Data Spaces (GDDS)”. The session is scheduled for Tuesday, 27 May 2025, from 16:00 to 17:30 EEST, and will be held at the OTE Group of Companies (HTO) in Athens, Greece.
As the European Green Deal continues to advance the integration of data-driven solutions for environmental sustainability, the capacity to effectively assess, utilise, and generate value from environmental data is essential. This session, featuring insights from WATERVERSE and other leading EU projects, will delve into the critical aspects of value creation within the Green Deal Data Space.
Our project coordinator, Gerasimos Antzoulatos from CERTH, together with other experts in the sector, will contribute to the discussion structured around three key perspectives:
-
Value Creation Foundations: Focusing on methodologies for assessing high-value datasets, determining readiness levels for data integration, and the role of smart city data in environmental management. Waterverse will contribute insights on the significance of water-specific datasets in this context.
-
Technological Enablers of GDDS: Showcasing how data-driven and Artificial Intelligence (AI) approaches can support robust data utilization, predictive analytics, and optimization across various sectors. Waterverse will highlight its work in applying these technologies to water resource management.
-
Data Value in Sustainability and Climate Reporting: Presenting how data can be leveraged to foster sustainability communities and facilitate comprehensive climate reporting, crucial for meeting Green Deal objectives. Waterverse will elaborate on the role of water data in these areas.
The session aims to offer a blend of technical insights, real-world use cases, and policy reflections. It will identify pathways for environmental data, including critical water data, to transition from mere availability to actionable impact, supporting the broader goals of the European Green Deal.
